Why hire a CFCI graduate

Selected by aptitude, not a CV

Entry to our flagship programme is decided in a hands-on workshop, so graduates are screened for the way they think and solve problems, not for the qualifications on paper.

Trained on real tools

Every learner works on real tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, Snort, OSSIM and the ELK stack) in hands-on labs, with each workflow mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, so they arrive job-ready rather than theory-only.

Built for the SOC

Graduates can deploy and use a SIEM, monitor logs, triage alerts, separate false positives from real threats and respond to incidents. SOC analyst is the most common first role: 7 of 20 recent graduates who secured employment became SOC analysts.

Mature, motivated career changers

75% of graduates who secured cyber roles had no prior IT background. They bring professional judgement, reliability and communication from earlier careers in administration, finance, teaching, sales and the armed forces.

Proof you can check before interview

Every graduate builds a portfolio of realistic attack-and-defence scenarios, so you can confirm hands-on ability rather than take a certificate on trust.

Recognised credentials

Graduates hold the Cybersecurity Career Kickstart+ certificate and seven modular skills certificates from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, plus a CFCI certificate in Windows Forensics and Incident Response. Higher performers also receive a GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) exam voucher (terms apply).

The skills and tools they bring

What they can do
  • SOC operations: deploy and run a SIEM (ELK with Beats, or OSSIM), monitor logs, identify threats and respond to incidents in real time.
  • Linux command line, system configuration, automation and Bash scripting, plus Python scripting for security tasks.
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, firewalls, and IDS or IPS (Snort) and pfSense in a domain environment.
  • Network traffic analysis with Wireshark, and structured network research.
  • Penetration-testing fundamentals: reconnaissance, enumeration, exploitation (Metasploit), privilege escalation and post-exploitation.
  • Windows digital forensics and incident response across file system, registry, memory, network and malware analysis.

Employer questions, answered

How do you know your graduates can actually do the job?

Selection into our flagship Cybersecurity Career Kickstart+ programme is by aptitude, assessed in a hands-on workshop rather than by CV. Learners then work through 333 hours of practical, lab-based training on real tools, with every workflow mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, and each builds a portfolio of realistic attack-and-defence scenarios you can review before you interview. As of early 2026, 80% of graduates who completed the full programme and career services secured cybersecurity employment, and 7 of 20 recent graduates who secured employment became SOC analysts.

Most of these candidates have no IT background. Is that a risk?

75% of our graduates who secured cyber roles had no prior IT background, and that is by design. They are mostly mid-career changers from fields such as administration, fund accounting, teaching, sales and the armed forces, who bring professional judgement, reliability and communication, then add hands-on technical skills through our programme. You are hiring a screened, trained career changer with a portfolio of practical work, not someone starting from scratch.

What roles and skills are your graduates ready for?

Most commonly junior blue-team and SOC roles. Graduates can deploy and use a SIEM, monitor logs, triage alerts, separate false positives from real threats and respond to incidents, alongside skills in Linux, Python and Bash scripting, Windows Server and Active Directory, firewalls and IDS or IPS, network traffic analysis, penetration-testing fundamentals, and Windows digital forensics and incident response. They have used tools including Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, Snort, OSSIM, the ELK stack, pfSense, Burp Suite, Shodan and YARA.

What does the hiring process look like, and do you guarantee a hire?

You tell us your requirements through the form on this page. Our career-services team reviews them and introduces graduates whose skills and eligibility fit, sharing CVs and portfolios with you, then you interview and decide. To be clear, CFCI assists with introductions through our career services; we do not place candidates and we do not guarantee a hire. Submitting the form starts a conversation, not a contract.

Is there a fee to hire through CFCI?

Submitting the enquiry form is free and there is no obligation. We will talk through any commercial details with you directly on the introductory call, so you have full clarity before anything is agreed.

What qualifications and certifications do graduates hold?

Graduates of Cybersecurity Career Kickstart+ hold the programme certificate and seven modular skills certificates from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, plus a CFCI certificate in Windows Forensics and Incident Response. Higher performers also receive an exam voucher for the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification (terms apply).

We have roles that need Singapore citizens or security clearance. Can you help?

Yes. Tell us the eligibility your role requires, for example Singapore citizenship or a specific security clearance, when you enquire, and we will only share graduates who already meet it. The eligibility field on the form pre-filters your request, so you never review a candidate who needs a work pass or clearance you cannot offer. Many private-sector roles are open to a wider pool, while government and defence roles often carry citizenship and clearance requirements, and we will match accordingly.

Is there government funding available to support hiring or training?

Singapore offers employer-facing pathways such as Workforce Singapore's Career Conversion Programmes, a hire-and-train model, along with national schemes like SkillsFuture and IMDA's TechSkills Accelerator (TeSA) that support cybersecurity reskilling and mid-career conversion. Eligibility and support levels are set by the relevant government agency and depend on your organisation and the role. CFCI does not administer these schemes, but we are happy to point you to the right official information on a call.
